Welcome to SpeedRead. By accessing or using our mobile application, website, or any related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you" or "User") and SpeedRead ("we," "us," or "our"). We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.
SpeedRead is a speed reading application that uses RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) technology to help users read content faster. The Service includes:
You must be at least 13 years of age to use SpeedRead. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or guardian's permission to use the Service.
SpeedRead does not require account creation or sign-up. All data is stored locally on your device. We reserve the right to deny service or block access for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any other reason we deem appropriate.
The free tier allows you to read up to 3 articles per month. This limit resets automatically at the beginning of each calendar month (UTC timezone).
Premium subscriptions provide unlimited article reading. Subscription pricing and terms are displayed in the app at the time of purchase. Subscriptions are:
All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's refund policies. We do not control or process refunds directly. To request a refund, please contact Apple Support or visit your purchase history in the App Store.
We reserve the right to change subscription prices at any time. Price changes for existing subscriptions will be communicated to you in advance and will take effect at your next renewal.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time in a subscription period.
You may use SpeedRead for personal, non-commercial purposes to read and process text content that you have the legal right to access.

When you use SpeedRead to read content from websites, articles, or social media posts, you are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to access and view that content. We do not claim ownership of any content you process through our Service.
You agree to respect copyright laws and the terms of service of websites you access through SpeedRead. SpeedRead is intended for personal reading of publicly accessible content and content you have legitimate access to (e.g., paid subscriptions, paywalled content you've purchased).
We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content processed through our Service infringes your copyright, please contact us with:
SpeedRead, including its software, design, logo, and documentation, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

We do not guarantee that content extracted and processed through SpeedRead will be accurate, complete, or error-free. Content extraction may be imperfect, and formatting errors may occur. You are responsible for verifying important information.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or free from errors, interruptions, or security vulnerabilities. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SPEEDREAD AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, or internet service provider failures.

If you download SpeedRead from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge and agree that:
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute informally by sending a written notice describing the dispute and your proposed resolution to our contact email.
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally within 60 days, any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration will take place in the United States, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction.
YOU AND SPEEDREAD AGREE THAT DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION.
Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for disputes related to intellectual property rights or unauthorized use of the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service and uninstall the app.
You may stop using SpeedRead at any time by uninstalling the app from your device. Uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel your subscription. To cancel your subscription, you must do so through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for any unused portion of your subscription.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SpeedRead regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, or severed if modification is not possible, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.
These Terms do not create any partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and SpeedRead.
